Moby Dick

Someone I know told me this weekend that they just read Moby Dick over and over. They just start again right after they finish it. It's not like they don't read other stuff. He does.

Do you think it's that good?

Do you have any book that you think is that good for you? Dare I say a book that could be your "Moby Dick"

Yes I realize it starts to sound dirty at that point.

I could read The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami over and over again. Thankfully, like Melville's masterpiece, it's long enough that by the time you finish reading you've forgotten much of the beginning so starting over is no big thing.

Man, I'd rather drive splinters under my nails than read Moby Dick again. That's a sign of a true sickness. Really, your friend needs some therapy.

As for books I can read over and over ... I'm a girl, so I've read Pride and Prejudice about a bazilion times, and I love The Great Gatsby. I've also read The House of Mirth many times. Wharton always reveals something new if you keep reading.
