It wasn't so much the cure as it made it tolerable

So I was sick. OK truthfully, I still am sick, but I'm better now. I had the worst cold I've had in a long time that lead to me going to the doctor and being put on all kinds of medicines but that's not the drug I want to talk about. Television. A drug of a nation.

I mainlined it while I was sick. Jen introduced me to The West Wing and while other's have told me in the past how great it is and even recorded me an episode (which I watched at the time and loved and that gave me a little clue as to something big going on. Whatever.)

I watched the first season just straight up. Episode after episode. I know someone who watches a season of 24 like that. He hosts a party and mostly they try to fit it into 24 hours of actual time with a few short breaks. I've never been to one of these 24 parties and I don't think I could ever unless I caught up with that show which is doubtful. Anyways I don't know where this post is going other than to say wow that's a lot of TV is a very short time and I'm still sick, but on the mend.

So yeah.

West Wing was a fantastic show. I wish I could watch it again for the first time. :-)

I mainlined TV (and movies) over my holiday break. It was nice, even though I didn't have any really great shows to watch.

Benjamin and I started watching House from the beginning in mild desperation for good TV to watch. We kind of like the new episodes better than the old ones though, plus I've seen random ones from the earlier seasons so we'll occasionally hit a stretch that aren't new to me. We're also watching This American Life (the Showtime show, not the radio broadcast), but again I've seen surprisingly more of them than I realized.
