20,000 steps to awesome

I don't think I've been further south than that. We made it all the way down to the San Diego Zoo which was awesome. If you don't follow me on twitter and/or facebook, Jen and I took the kids down to L.A. and surrounding areas for all types of amusement. Some items were more amusing than others. Highlights included, but were not limited to:

  • The Magic Castle on the 4th of July with Aye Jaye
  • The usual Hollywood sites
  • Some unusual Hollywood sites including the bat cave
  • Asking again in a California Pizza Kitchen, "Isn't that redundant?"
  • The Glendale Embassy Suites breakfast and pool
  • Hiking with Tom and Polly out around a dam in LA
  • Meeting Jen's friend who is no longer a resident of LA as she squeezed in a dinner right as she was moving!
  • Disneyland: Seeing the Lilly Belle on the tracks, Spotting Maynard, one of the more famous cast members, working the tiki room, skulking around club 33 hoping to tailgate in which would be legen... DARY. Next time I'll make reservations for Blue By You. Maybe next time I'll stay in the Dream Suite and ride the Lilly Belle.
  • Seeing the show at the golden horseshoe for the first time.
  • Pirates.
  • Haunted mansion which we didn't manage to get through without a stop.
  • More Disney.
  • Meeting another of Jen's friends and having the most delicious sea food and conversation! We're going to hold you to that visit!
  • Seeing an F-18 do a tight turnaround over the I-5
  • The San Diego Zoo: Baby everythings.

I carried my pedometer with me:

Disneyland I averaged 22,000 or so steps. The zoo was around 20,000. That's a lot of steps. Now after sleeping in my own bed and starting the laundry, I'm still tired.
